UC Trying to Go Back on Steps Agreement?(Comments Off)

Just weeks after signing our contract, UC is proposing to deny steps to hundreds of workers. UC agreed to a Step System for ALL UC Service Workers, and we will not allow them to go back on their word for any group of workers at any campus!

Service Steps Problem Resolved, Actions Canceled!

On April 22, 2009, our statewide Bargaining Team met with UC Management to review new proposals on Steps. Previously, UC had proposed that hundreds of workers have just
one or two steps; they were also refusing to properly adjust ranges within some series, taking away our right to move up.

Our Actions Move UC, But Not Yet Enough

After two weeks of public actions at University events, UC Management has improved some of their implementation proposals. We will keep up the pressure until every Service Worker gets the Step System UC agreed to in our contract!

Service Workers Ratify Historic Contract by 98%

Bargaining Update #15: UC Service Worker Reach an Historic Agreement With UC!

Despite UC’s excuse that they didn’t have any money, our militant actions, hard work and determination made UC agree to our major demands! We have fundamentally changed UC to improve the lives of the thousands of the lowest paid workers at UC!
