Senators Yee and Ashburn, Assemblymembers Portantino and Nestande, have authored Constitutional Amendments to reform the University of California. These two proposals are SCA 21 and ACA 24, and are the first real reform of the UC system since 1879. [ download document ]
This week, UC announced its plan to declare an "emergency" in order to enact substantial wage cuts, furloughs, or a combination. In the coming weeks, AFSCME will be working with other UC unions, students, politicians and community members to fight back against UC’s misplaced priorities! [ download document ]
On April 22 our statewide bargaining team met with UC Management to review revised proposals on Steps. After weeks of bargaining and demonstrations, UC has agreed in writing to classification wage grids which guarantee all Service Workers receive the step system we deserve! [ download document ]
