I support AFSCME 3299’s struggle for justice at the University of California.

UC must prioritize its patient care and service workers, in order to provide the high level of patient care and student services that Californians deserve.

UC belongs to all of us.  Let’s take back OUR University!

We are essential healthcare workers who want to provide the best quality care for our patients.

UC workers believe that below-market wages, a high-stress environment and increasing benefit costs cause UC to lose experienced workers and create the need to rely on temporary staff in certain departments.  We believe that comparable institutions, such as Kaiser, pay up to 25% more than UC. We are committed to providing quality patient care, but UC’s wages are so low compared to other hospitals, many of us have to go work elsewhere.

We believe these factors can adversely affect the quality of patient care.

UC Patient Care Watch was created to educate UC Medical Center patients and their families about issues related to the quality of care at UCSF, UCLA, UCI, UCD and UCSD Medical Centers.
